US Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, visited The Rapid on Saturday, January 28, 2012 to "cut the ribbon" on the remodeled and renovated Wealthy Operations Center.

The one-time federal grant that provided funding for County Connection service is expiring in mid-February, 2012.

The Rapid Senior's Mentor Program pairs an experienced volunteer with any senior who would like to feel more comfortable using the bus system.

Beginning on Monday, January 9, 2012, certain routes in The Rapid's system will have improved frequency, later service hours, and extended connections.

Ridership on The Rapid’s regional transit service surpassed 10.8 million rides in Fiscal Year 2011, marking a 10.7 percent increase in overall ridership compared to FY 2010, according to the agency’s latest ridership report.

The Rapid is proud to announce a new partnership with Ferris State University. Starting on August 29, 2011, The Rapid will operate a shuttle service between Rapid Central Station in Grand Rapids and the Big Rapids campus of FSU. This service is intended primarily for students, faculty, and staff, however, it will be open to the general public for a fare of $8/per one-way trip.
