Grand Rapids Active Commute Week

Coming again in 2022! Stay posted for details. You can find our recap report from the 2021 event here.

Walk, Roll + Ride to your destination!

Active Commute Week is a community-wide initiative to encourage widespread use of alternative modes of transportation, such as riding the bus, carpooling or bicycling. Individuals are encouraged to log their "green trips" - whether to/from work, the grocery store or lunch - to see the positive impact of using alternative transportation versus driving alone.

Log your trips to qualify for prizes, or join the employer challenge. The employer challenge is a great way to measure collective impact, while fostering friendly competition in four employer categories- micro, small, medium, and large-sized employers.

In 2021, the following employers were recognized for top participation in the challenge: City of Grand Rapids, Calvin University, Grand Rapids Public Museum, Kent District Library, and Switchback Gear Exchange.
